Free Tracks From Plastician
Plastician is sharing three tracks with the fans on his SoundCloud page. First track is a remix of Chew Lips’ single entitled “Salt Air“. Second is a take on Snoop Dogg Millionaire initially put together for his Dubstep LA mix compilation. Third one is a track named ‘Working Title‘ which is described by Plastician as a dark track built for vocals.
In addition you can listen to the full mind blowing 72 minutes of Dubstep LA mix – a fusion of hiphop and dubstep put together by Plastician. “Cashmere Agency Presents Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian Dubstep LA Embrace The Renaissance Vol.1″ which was released in June 2009.
Bio:
Chris Reed (aka Plastician) is a grime/dubstep DJ and producer based in Thornton Heath, London. He started DJing at the age of 16 and taught himself production before he got 18. His first track was ‘Venom’ that was released under the name Plastic Man on Slimzos Recordings. His musical style connects east London grime to the south London dubstep scenes.
Aged 20, he established his own label – Terrorhythm Recordings and was offered a few guest slots at Rinse FM which led to a permanent slot hosting an instrumental grime show. Later on he hosted BBC Radio 1’s first radio show dedicated to dubstep and grime before returning to Rinse FM in 2007.
In 2004, he toured the USA with Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label and featured on Rephlex’s compilations Grime 1 and Grime 2 which brought him his first wide audience exposure.
Over the years Plastician has released records on other labels such as Contagious, Soulja, ROAD, A.R.M.Y. and Southside Dubstars. He has produced and remixed artists such as MIA, Alter Ego, Kosheen, Skepta, JME, and Black Ghosts.
Nowadays Plastican DJs at clubs including FWD in London, he toured all over Europe, as well as Japan and all over the world with a massive schedule.
