The Techno/House duo Slam decided to offer parts and sounds from the A-sides of their first 4 paragraph releases for free download.
Stuart MacMillan explained the move on the label page: “In this day and age of instantly available music, we think it would be cool to give people the choice to remix and re edit our tracks, so they have there own individual versions. Its also a way for new producers to get an incite into how we make our music and hopefully inspire them to create something new and exiting.”
Orde Meikle added: “The idea was inspired by real 2 real disco re-edits when people used to make different versions of tracks for club-play”
All you have to do in order to download the parts and sounds is to send a blank email toparagraph@somarecords.com and you’ll get a mail with the links.
