Pascal TokarThe most satisfying thing to come out of Switzerland since Nestlé

The most satisfying thing to come out of Switzerland since Nestlé Born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, Pascal Tokar has been blasting audiences with his electrifying energy and immaculate talent since the late 90’s. Having released two albums ‘Music2Drink Vol.2′ and ‘Music2Drink Vol.3′ amongst numerous other productions such as ‘Comeback’ and ‘Muevete’ who were featured on MTV and VIVA, Tokar is just getting started on world domination. THCDJ had the privilege to ask Pascal Tokar a few questions just to get a glimpse into Switzerland’s next huge export.

For those unfortunate few that aren’t familiar with your work, can you describe your sound and style for them?

I play electronic music…  :-) Mainly House but I don’t like borders so I play what I like and I mix different styles in the club, because the crowd allows me to do so.
Music has so many different colours and styles. It would be a pity to say I mix just Teckhouse and that’s it.

This past year has been huge for you, you’ve played at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Ibiza, huge clubs around Europe, and my personal favorite in Canada, Circus Montreal.
What were your 3 most memorable experiences and why?
2008 has been a great year for me and I am really thankful for that. The best 3 experiences were:
1. My first Tour in Canada last May. Circus Afterhours in Montreal. I love the City and it was my first time in Canada as well. Great crowd. Great hospitality.

2. My first Gig at the famous EL DIVINO in Ibiza. Nearly impossible to get there but we made it and the club was packed on the 08.08.08 :-) looking forward to go back there. :-)
3. All the 6 hours sets I play once a month at MAD club in Lausanne. It’s one of the best spots in Switzerland with an amazing atmosphere. And I can create something really special when i have 6 hours of time.

What are your top 5 tracks at the moment?
1. Tell u why – ATFC (New Jack Swing Original)
2. Twist – Jay Kay (Original)
3. Kinetic – Golden Girls (ATFC Remix)
4. Bounce – Abigail Bailey/Delicious
5. U dont even know us – Sharvais (Original)

If you could pick one artist dead or alive to collaborate with for one track who would it be and why?
I think that will be Tiesto. He’s one of the reasons why I am still here doing what I am doing. He always was my idol and it’s impressive to see what this guy has done in the last years. In 2004 I had the opportunity to open for him here in Switzerland.

Considering 2009 just got started, can you give us a sneak peak into what to expect from the musical world of Pascal Tokar?
I am really looking forward to 2009. In April my new CD will be released so watch out. Canada, Miami, Orlando and Moscow are already confirmed and you will be able to catch me at THE club in Ibiza the Space on Fridays :-) I am also busy in the studio these days to finish the album.
