Shakir Stewart (34) has been found dead at his home in Atlanta after committing suicide, Shakir was Jay-Z’s successor as the label’s President as from June this year, he was also a Senior A&R for the entire Island of Def Jam Group and in the early 90’s he was the guy responsible for you knowing Beyonce.
Def Jam paid tribute to him, saying: “Shakir was an amazing man in every sense of the word.”
