Deadmau5: I’m not a total fucking idiot

Submitted by David Abutbul on November 10, 2008 – 9:30 amNo Comment

After suffering the wrath of the DJ world with his “They’re f***ing c**ts” comment, Canadian upstart Deadmau5 has moved to clear things up on his Myspace Blog.

The man in the mouse head said: “Okay, to say ‘all djs are… etc etc’, to be taken literally as this article did, was just painfully stupid on their behalf.”

“I’m not a total fucking idiot and I recognise talent when I see it… and there are many talented DJs out there for sure In my eyes, those would be the individuals who utilise technology to deliver music in ways that are both skillful and innovative,” he added.

While he admits that he lacks ‘DJ roots’, he says he would rather stay at home than be dragged to a club to see DJs who “simply mash the play/stop button and occasionally move a pitch slider.”

The drama shows no sign of relenting, with hundreds of comments already being posted on forums across the world.
