Every so often we find ourselves overwhelmed, excited, and above all, surprised by a track that pops up in our crate.
This time it’s a little gem called Say It Children, a bootleg by DJ Sergi. Dj Sergi, a producer hailing from Murcia in the South of Spain. Say It Children is a mash up of the 1994 hit Trance song Children by Swiss Italian Trance producer Robert Miles and Say It Right a 2006 hit single by Grammy Award winning Canadian singer Nelly Furtado.
To hear the track Children being brought back to life sends shivers down my spine. A song that softened the hearts of Hip Hop kids, chilled out the Rockers, and opened the unknown door to future Trance music lovers around the world.
This mash up is definitely worth a listen or perhaps just a click on the repeat button for a little while.
Nelly Furtado’s voice on the track gives it even more emotion (as if it wasn’t emotional enough), as DJ Sergi says “This mash up is simple and elegant, inspired by the sea”. The elegance and simplicity of it is what makes it that much better. No overbearing basslines or overwhelming effects. Just a beautiful harmony over an even more beautiful melody. A track that can be dropped at a lounge, at the beach, or when the crowd is simply cooling off and craving a tune with substance.
