It’s Friday and just about that time again. Time to forget the stress, forget the alarm clock, forget the week, and forget yourself; Time to dive into the weekend face first and hope it never ends. This weekend we are graced and welcomed by an insanely poetic track by U.K Producer Liam Goodwin. The tune is called “Chriqui” and will be released alongside two remixes, one by Dj Darone and the other by Caytas & Patz on Nellie Recordings.

As I previously stated, this track is insanely poetic. While most of you are probably WTFing at me right now and asking yourselves; “How the hell on earth is a song with no lyrics poetic?”. Easy, easy to understand but not so easy to create (or recreate for that matter, so props are definitely in order to Mr. Goodwin, Darone, and Caytas & Patz).
Listen to Dj Darone’s Dark mix version of Chriqui and you will most definitely understand.
The ups and downs, the peaks and sounds, all create a story to suit each listener.
Happy words or sexy words, sad words or words you want to hear when you miss somebody, all those words are there, and they’re just disguised by the synths and bassline. Sounds that I’m pretty certain the heavens above can only wish to piece together and an audible avant-garde feel that E.E. Cummings himself would be eager to write about.

While Liam Goodwin’s original mix is well, the original. Nothing but good things can be said.

But Dj Darone really hit the nail on the head, over…and over…and over again with his Dark Mix.

1/12/2008 is the date you all should be marking down on your calendars with a little note saying ‘Buy Chriqui…or deprive myself of all things f&^%$#@^ fantastic’. I’m excited for December 1st and I’m sure you are too, and if you aren’t, well…I guess you’ll just have to deal with deprivation.
