wmc 2009Every year it happens, and each year it becomes more exclusive, giving stage for new talents, teaching new up-coming artists and most of all, brings the whole EDM industry together. This year, will be of no difference. It seems that in order to truly experience the whole features of WMC ‘09 you will have to split your self into two or three persons, each one assigned to some of the amazing events that will be held this year at the conference among them, the awaited IDMA, the Oscar for DJs and producers all around the world.

Miami Winter Music Conference for the year 2009 will take place in Miami Beach Resort & Spa, 24-28 of March, Florida, here I come!

Went to the WMC for the first time and overall was not impressed. I though that many of the dj’s represented the white version of house and techno which the music industry is so fond of promoting. I guess that a lot of people are not comfortable with the fact that black people are the innovators of this music. Sure, DJ Sneak was amazing, but when is he ever off? Just an anomaly in the whole generic scheme of things. The music was also very much the same from dj to dj and the tracks sounded very programmed. There was not much variety from dj to dj, day to day. There was mostly house music, a little techno, no ambient or electronic, and after 5 days of house music I was happy to get on that plane.
