dascratch profileThe latest DVS control surface from Stanton’s SC line is Da Scratch or SCS.3d, a small and friendly, nu-tek looking gadget that is born with a whole bunch of promises from Stanton, whether or not it will make the grade, only time and testing on the long run will tell.

Stanton have tried to create a home-away from home for djs who are used to using turntables or CDJs that are vinyl like, and it emulates the regular dj motions you would rather usually do on a Turntable only now you are bound to do it on a dead flat surface.

Amongst the features DaScratch is said to have: Scratching, Scrubbing (WHAT?), Navigating through digital audio. the buttons act as a trigger for any MIDI operation you’d like such as playing samples. Virtual faders can be used for controlling pitch, effects, cue and loop points, and other mappable functions. Multiple finger touches can even prompt quick kills on EQ’s or transform effects on volume.

It comes with a nice magnetic connector which allows you to “snap together” multiple DaScratch units, now this sounds cool.

Also it features a comprehensive software that will help you map out all of the midi keys you wish to use, and it supports both pc and mac.

The center part operates in 3 modes, the slider mode, circle mode, and button mode, more bang for your buck here, and again the distance from an awesome machine to a failure gadget is really short when you are featuring so many options.
