London’s The End, ends.
The biggest underground club and legend The End, is closing its doors for the last time on the 24th of January 2009 after more then twelve years of hosting the UK’s biggest most powerful underground scene parties.
Zoe Paskin, one of the directors working at the end said:
“An opportunity arose that made us think even more deeply about what we wanted for The End in the future. Not just for today and tomorrow, but for several years moving forward. We discussed with the people that make the club what it is behind the scenes whether we wanted to carry the club on, and whether we could all continue to be as engaged as we had been. It was inevitable that people would eventually want to move on, and the chance to do this was in front of us.”
This December 13th the club will celebrate it’s 13th year of working, it will be a mixture of hapiness and sadness as ravers then, will start saying goodbye to the club with a series of upcoming shows to make fans think hard about what they are going to lose when it closes.
“The End & AKA will be closing in style, giving the venues the send off they deserve, and the chance for the different DJs and nights to say goodbye. We will be open as normal through autumn, with September, October and November’s parties rocking as usual.”
“We’ve got to the point where some of the key people are ready to move on,” says Layo, one of the club owners (together with Mr. C) and adds “The option to be able to close on a high appeals to our romantic nature.”
